My belt drive is too tight or looseUpdated 9 months ago
Electric One
The belt should flex between 0.5 cm to 1 cm. When this is not the case, the belt is too tight or loose. When it’s too tight, it can produce sounds. To loosen or tighten the belt drive, you need to adjust the rear wheel. We advise you to adjust this at a professional bike shop, preferably specializing in e-bikes. Want to do it yourself? To adjust the rear wheel, you have to unscrew the six Allen bolts next to the big nut that holds the wheel. You can move the rear wheel by tightening or loosening the two smaller Allen bolts that keep the distance between the frame and the wheel. The belt drive must be able to move around 0.5-1 cm when you press it. If the belt drive is tight enough, you have to check if the wheel is straight in the frame. If everything is in place, you can tighten the six bolts again to secure the wheel. If you have questions, please reach out to Customer Care.
Important to note: the Carbon Gates belt drive doesn't need to have lubrication of any sort. Never use oil.
